Description


Engine No. 5 of the "Vulkan-Express" (maximum speed 20 km/h, narrow gauge 1000 mm) is currently out of service, due to a broken boiler, but hopefully back in service early fall this year. Photo taken on Sept. 8th, 2002, at Station Brohl. Minolta Dimage Camera, postwork in Paint Shop Pro.

Beautiful old lady enveloped in her "smoke" screen. Your lighting certainly highlights the steam, great shot. We still have one narrow guage service running for tourists between Knysna and George, South Africa.

These smaller type Tank Engines have a character all of their own. I hope that she can get that boiler repaired and be back giving faithful service. A good point of view on your part.
