Description
This engine now belongs to "Historische Eisenbahn Frankfurt/Main e.V." It was built in 1934 by Krupp (Essen), and has been in service ever since! 1650 kW (2240 hp), maximum speed 130 km/h.
Photo taken on Oct. 5th, 2002 at Limburg station, during the "Plandampf im Lahntal" event. These events are quite popular (and spectacular!), regular scheduled trains are pulled by a variety of steam engines.
Minolta Dimage camera, (some) postwork in Paint Shop Pro.

Great portrayal of power. I like the spectators watching in awe - very good! I would have liked to see the smoke stack or just the chimney at the top.

Wonderful picture. Yeah, the top is missing. But it's great anyhow.

@busi2ness, chips7: I just checked the original photo in my archives: the funnel is missing there, too. Sorry. But I'll post two or three more pics from this event in the next few days...

Yes. We all know it deep down... "REAL ENGINES" use steam! Great shot of the fuss these critters make when they wake up.

A great image, I agree with the previous comments regarding the top of the image missing. Would have been excellent to see all of her. She certainly looks well and it is good to see that she is kept in such good condition. Looking at all these Steam Engines means that I now have to go off line and spend a bit of time playing Microsoft Train Simulator for awhile. Toot, Toot.
