Description

It's most definitely almost summer in our garden; we've been spending most of our weekend time with the vegetables and flowers and things are coming along nicely! I bought this little rose bush because the blossom colors are lovely, a really brilliant pink, and part of the proceeds of the sale go to Breast Cancer Research UK. Sox and Lucia are allowed in the garden when one of us is out there with them, and of course Sox thinks he can be very sneaky and thinks he's "jungle kitty"; he doesn't realize how large he is and he tries to hide behind flower pots. Slug/snail update: thanks for all the suggestions. Unfortunately, sprinkling salt in the garden is pretty bad for the soil and plants, but we've been catching the slugs and snails in saucers of cheap beer. David's dad suggested it; they love the smell and taste, crawl in to drink, and drown. I also got some anti-slug nematodes to water into the soil, plus some copper tape to lay around the perimeter, as slugs won't crawl over copper. It's a never-ending war!! Hope all are well; thanks for peeking!

Beautifully composed photo. Love the colors and play of light and shadow. But most of all I love your beauty of a cat. :) Thanks for sharing.

What a cute pic of Sox. Gardening is so good for the heart and soul. We had a constant battle with snails and slugs in Calif ..., Seems you are winning the war.:o) In the high country we have no snails or slugs, which is great, but then there are the squirrels, bunnies, racoons, and deer who like to nibble on our flowers, and moles who pull whole plants right into the ground, and a bear who sat on our one and only tomato plant to rest while drinking our hummingbird nectar.:o) CC

LOL - Sox almost looks like a "normal" cat. Cool. And cool to see him outside, so well hidden. Regarding the snails - beer is of course a really good idea. But be sure it will not be drunken by a two legged slug around! Oh, not to forget - ecellent, very crisp photo!

I have a stone in my patio flower garden that says; "One who plants a garden, plants happiness." It really is true, isn't it? Sox is a beautiful cat and this is a great picture of him.

Absolutely wonderful photo! I remember the first pics of when he was so tiny. Glad you are both enjoying the garden. I too have been outside with my new pond and loving it. I now have 6 fish and 2 toads have moved in.
