Description

The words get stuck Deep inside. I need to free them To release them from the inner torture of my soul They lust for light, for life. They need to shine and to guide me back from the dark from depression from the lassitude of life. I scream. Long Loud but no one hears. Even if they did, they could not help. It must be my choice My decision to climb out of the pit of lethargy. I grit my teeth. I shake my head Dizzyness knocks me sideways And I see from a new perspective. I see crevices and cracks. Footholds to climb out, Upwards. Higher towards the luminance of the stars. It is still dark But the stellar specks give me hope. I sigh Peacefully.

Your play with hope and despair and the gruesome upward climb is incredible - what a way with words!

Yeah... it's a real bugger when that happens... starer at a blank screen or piece of paper and try to think... sometimes doing nothing is the best result...LOL... Exceelent Sue...I know what you mean! (V)

How can one have writer's block when such an exsquite poem has been created? It appears that you have written ON the writer's block. Love it! Raw,edgy and powerful.

Thank you for your comments all. It took this poem to get out of the writers block stage. I was merciless and just churned out word after word until it began to flow again.... :o)

Writers block is easy to get rid of... You just have to do something that changes your mood. Some music, or just taking a walk outside might help. It's a lot harder to get rid of suicidal depression, which I think has a lot in common with writers block, only that it is maaany times stronger.

I just write about what pops up in my goofy brain. Never had writer's block, to the great chagrin of MANY. WINK. HANG TOUGH, dear lady! Superb work!! My best, T.P.
