Description

We were given a challenge to come up with an out-of-the-box description or passage about a few objects. I chose 'a home' as I am in a dark alternative mood..... I'm too sad for hugs today.... ********************* A struggle. Every day turmoil That endless spiral Of being in prison. Ordinary life of living shut up in a home. I need to change to move I need something Always work to be done. Always fighting None of the fun Same bed same sink same eveything. Boring. Hatred rips through me I need to change to move I need something Something else different than this home. I want love I want laughter. I need life. I get back to the house The same paintwork Glares at me Hurts my eyes. Curtains hang limply Bored with the same scenery every minute. Routine steps are taken From bed to bath kitchen to front door Key is worn from daily use Gate is chipped and neglected I need to change to move I need something. Get me out of this furrow I have dug My home is no longer my own space It belongs to dreams that have gone, Balls of dust Creepy cobwebs I need to change to move I need something I need a new home.

Powerful words! Indeed sometime a new surrounding is the best medicine. I say it is always better to run to something new, than stay in something exhausted! This way the good memories don't fade!

Superbly written piece, SusiQ! My late father always said, "Home is where ya' hang your hat". Between him being in the Army (Two tours) and us always moving to find jobs to feed '9' kids, we found that to be true. AND comforting. (I just wrote a piece ya' might want to read? WINK). My best, kind lady. PEACE to you and yours. T.P./brian.

I can see that feeling. Dreams of doing your house up into a home but then the money runs away with the dreams and all your left with it the shell of a home...a house.
