Description

God gave us Hope today, a tiny gift to share A fragile being brought to us, to show us how to care The day was bright and sunny; the clouds were soft and light A perfect day for sharing, all things new and bright I sat outside my house, taking in the day The sun upon my face, watching children play When my daughter came to me, her hands cupped to her chest. Gingerly walking up the steps, worried and out of breath. As she held out both her hands, I heard a tiny sound

I loved reading this. It's strange, isn't it, about being a parent, when the things we're supposed to have answers for turn into parables for us? As my daughter grows, I'll pray i'll remember this poem when those moments of intimacy come. Blessings to you! :)

Wonderful poem about a sad event. I also had the same experience, as I found a baby sparrow that had fallen from it's nest. I was commited to taking care of it and intent on returning it to the nest next daybreak. It wasn't injured and happily ate the concoction of bread, meat and milk I had made and fed with a toothpick. I wasn't allowed to keep it in the house so I built a makeshift nest for it in a shoebox and put it on the back porch. It froze to death that cold night. I was about seven yrs old. Never quite forgave my Grandma for making me leave it outside that night. Anyway, tear-jerking story and poem Michele. Wish my Grandmother would have been so thoughtful. Hugs from Dave :^)
