Description

Inspired by a place in my country I visited years ago, but the mental image has been popping up in my mind ever since as one of the most magical and beautiful places I've seen in real life. Appropriately - I've learned - the place is called the "Trolls' Gorge" ("Troldeslugten") and is situated in the center of Jutland, Denmark, in an area which - of course - is among the most scenic and beautiful places in the country, around the "Hald Lake". I looked at some photos on the web for reference, but as always, I worked from the "inner vision" when building the scene. - Now, my picture doesn't really have the magic of the place, but anyway I'm quite satisfied with the outcome :) This has been one of the toughest scenes I've made, mostly because of the hi-rez trees. Vue crashed 5 times in the 2 days (on and off) I've worked on the project. Fortunately I've made habit of saving before I make any "major changes" etc. so I just had to restart and reload each time :) The usual toolbox: Vue 5 Infinite, Onyxtree, Bantam3D "Grass" and Photoshop (for minor adjustments, framing and signature). All texures and objects are my design. 4 hrs. render in "Broadcast" with GI. Hope you like this, comments etc. very welcome and much appreciated. It'll be interesting to see the "new" website's features, looking forward to it. Have a nice day - Lars

I really love your pictures. Even if we live in different countries, they remind me some parts of mine, France. I like also specially what I would call the "grain" of your pictures.

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. The composition is just perfect but the realism is really achieved by the strong highlights off the leaves. Incredible work; the textures, sparse ecosystem all work fabulously. VOTEEEEEE

AB.SO.LUTE.LY. STUNNING!!! I can't get over it. AMAZING realism... I'm floored. garyandcatherine hit the nail right on the head: the highlights on the leaves enhances the level of realism... I do believe I have learned a great lesson here. MAGNIFICENT - and VOTE!

I just love it when someone can capture a scene as well as you have without the use of a camera or a canvas. Great work!
