Description

"No one would have believed in the early years of the twenty-first century that our world was being watched by intelligences greater than our own; that as men busied themselves about their various concerns, *they* observed and studied, the way a man with a microscope might scrutinize the creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. With infinite complacency, men went to and fro about the globe, confident of our empire over this world. Yet across the gulf of space, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic regarded our planet with envious eyes and slowly, and surely, drew their plans against us..." -Narrator, War of the Worlds

The tentacles grow ever more numerous as the invasion continues... I had planned to upload a different image but I left it at work. Rather than wait until Monday or re-work the same image, I went with a different scene from the pond. No additional commentary today, hope your weekends are going well! =] ----- Thanks for stopping by and for your effusive comments on my last photo, Invasion of the Lily Pond II.

Interesting indeed! I assume this is for the ponds sake as decoration? It does look very alien like. Is it supposed to be? Very cool! KP

If the three images are sequential, okay. If the three are to stand as a triptych, the weak link.

i wonder if the pink flowers of the lilly pads turn into that tentacled creature that you've captured ( on film that is). interesting Sci-fi aspect to this one...

Medusa reveals herself!! Wow!! Your previous posts revealed her tentacles so subtley that this one is a real shocker! This composition rocks!! Love the way the purple of the sculpture compliments the purple of the flowers!!! And of course my favorite line from WOTW was: "Yet across the gulf of space, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic regarded our planet with envious eyes and slowly, and surely, drew their plans against us..." Killer narative!!! Second best of series!!! Vote

You have produced a fantastic series, it is a great contrast having a man made sculpture against the delicate beauty of nature....well done
