Description

Been playing on and off for months with this image, still not happy with it, but as an experement I think it proved a theory, that you can use the inside of a prop to create a scene. The whole scene was assembled inside the Protector spaceship and it took several hours to render. I can get your point when you say that you are not 100% satisfied with it. It is difficult to say what is going wrong ore not maybe the inside of the spaceship is not with lots of coloured textures that gives the impression of too much grey in the scene. Did you try to change Victorias texture to other colours? The long render time can come from a reflective/refraction surface. And if you use the two settings together it will increase like hell. Anyway a great experiment here. Jacques

Original and gripping in concept--compositionally playing the horizontal off the vertical shining, metallic figure. The problem remains the head, which jars, texturally and with the flow of the rest. You are right to keep playing--there is a solution there somewhere--I would try bending the head back and turning it to look out through the window or screen, texturing it to compliment the body texturing, and if "hair" something striking and simple, jagged perhaps but organic. Solve that and with a first class render the sky's the limit....if you really want the shining eyes, perhaps a reflection back off the "glass"?

Cool space image - great pose and super use of contrast and color vs darkness vs shine!

Hmmm, I disagree with the good professor, this works precisely because of the way you layered each backlit element, the shadows on her face contrast the inner light of her eye, her body contrasts the light from the instrumentation, and the frame of the ship contrasts against the glow from outside. All working together to create great depth!!
