Description
G'day.
This was taken late last week along the Woori Yallock nature walk along the Yarra River in the Yarra Valley east of Melbourne, Australia.
The tree is a Eucalyptus (not sure what species possibly a Red Gum) which would be at least 150 years old as the base of the trunk was at least 1.5m in diameter. I did a bit of dodging and buring postwork to make the tree stand out more!!
Enjoy Lou

I like this huge tree, and You choosed to present it in B/W makes it more ancient!

I absolutely adooooore old forests with such big and old trees in them. I will never forget walking through the forests of Cairngorms / Scotland. There i found trees like these and they are mindblowing. Beautiful photo, but i dont really agree with Joe about the B&W. Its a "messy" scene with lots of branches and twigs everywhere, so i think having it monochrome makes you lose a lot of midtones you could only see in color. So i personally think it would have looked even better in color...but then again...what do i know, its not like ive seen it in color, lol. And besides, its beautiful in B&W as well. Sorry for rambling like this. Have a dandy day mate. #:O)
