Description
Found lots of these little blue dragonflies on a hike along a creek near my house. These were the only ones I've seen this year.
Thanks for viewing/commenting.

Nice capture! I tried to take some shots of these last weekend but they were too flighty.

Great shot !! These guys are hard to capture for sure. But this would be a Damselfly. You can tell because the wings fold together when it is at rest, a Dragonfly has it's wings to each side of the body. Not that it matters that much just FYI. Thanx for posting it for us. Very clear shot.

very beautiful damselfly and --The Vivid Dancer is a member of the narrow-winged damselfly family (family Coenagrionidae). Most North American damselflies belong to this family. These small insects, 1-2" (25-50 mm) long, are brightly colored with usually clear wings, which they hold together vertically over their bodies when at rest. Unlike broad-winged damselflies, narrow-winged damselflies have wings so narrow at the base that they appear stalked. In most species males are more brightly colored than females. Naiads, to 1" (25 mm) long, have leaflike gills at the tip of their abdomen and inhabit quiet waters.

It seems that the most popular damsels have identical color on both side of the Atlantic ocean... Great capture ... I have the impression he is looking at you... :~)
