I've gotta say thank you too all for the wonderful comments on yesterday's post and tx for all of the clicks too! A big tx to Yaguar who gave me some brilliant advise the I hadn't thought of.
So we went to Pinetown for the comrades and ... I'll be damned! They had ALL run thru! So we went to Cato Ridge, a farming area and parked on the off ramp, walked to the road and took position.
We saw the men from about the 5th man and were lucky enough to see the top ladies coming thru. The first lady that won is Russian as is the 2nd and 3rd.
So inspired by busi2ness, I created a collage. The 6th lady is South African and yes the shot has the POF on the guy behind her - the cost of learning to shoot with a hood, into the sun and on sports mode. But none the less I've sold the shot already and shipping the post as soon as I receive payment.
You can see in the one shot I even got the bike cam. And why the yeloow stroking/boarder? Because yellow and black are the Comrades colours.
Yippee it's HUMP-DAY!!!
Please zoom in for the correct sizing!

Great photos PW! I was so busy in Jhb I never got a chance to see it! Check at those muscles on the women! I gotta start running to get a figure like that!! LoL.

The problem with using Sports mode would be very high apperature speed, which captures the moment to clarity. You could have tried using it a better way, focus on subject and induce blur on the background would have provided a better effect. Let me know if you can try that sometime later Good attempt

unfortunately in my sports mode - I can't change anything it is basically full auto with an increased ISO and cont auto focus...

This was with 30 km left, they've finished 69 km by this stage...

Very good realisation of the pain and anxiety plus the camaraderie - it is the "comrades" after all! - displayed in the top left. Excellent collage and my first thought was the significance of the colours used. I am taking tips again.

Looks like they are hitting the zone that point where the brain and body goes onto autopilot. Excellent collage here :-)
