I'm a graphic designer from Finland who teaches using computers in designing, and whose favourite areas are vector graphics and typography and painting as well digitally as with traditional methods. - All said in one sentence...
I read a lot, I smoke a lot --- I'm not anymore young, beautiful and slim;-)BIOI graduated at Helsinki University some 20 years ago as M.A. - main subjects philosophy, aesthetics and Finnish language and Finnish literature. As a philosopher;-) I couldn't have a permanent job... I have been a teacher in many places; teaching both children and adults.
I am a self-made graphic designer and computer aided designing teacher. My very best interest lies - besides the pictures - on typography, in theory and in practise. I work as a free lancer.
I have the home page of my own - but unfortunately they are all in Finnish. But the adress is not a secret: www.valt.helsinki.fi/blogs/titta
All my studying materials are there - I teach quite a lot at Helsinki University.
Personal life: I live with my big black dog, Kirppu (in English "a flea") in Helsinki.

There is a haunting quality to your painting Titta. It is beautiful, powerful, and I can hear the sea beckoning me to come closer. Your colors are exquisite and full of feeling. This is one goes into my favorites.

I haven't read the novel, Titta, but your charming painting gives me a desire to. I love the idea of making pictures based on fictional worlds (I've tried it once or twice), especially those worlds that have not been illustrated before. Many artists have illustrated Tolkien's Middle Earth, but how many have made a picture based on this Iris Murdock novel? If you are the first, then this makes it extra unique. :-)

I would never have the time to read all the books I should in my lifetime, so I'm so blessed to have friends like you, that can capture an essential essence from within and portray it with such brilliance. Thank you so much dear Titta big hugs.

...this paimting sets quite a mood ! -- love the curving sweep of the foreground landform that gets taken up and completed by that one absolutely glorious wave on the right. ---- & just noticed the seagulls adding to the drama ---lots of 'feelings' translated into this fine work.

A wonderfully imagined painting, Titta. The vibrant colours perfectly depict the drama of the book. The turbulent sea and clouds are a metaphor for Charles Arrowby's disturbed mind. It's a long time since I read this book, but I do recall Arrowby as a self-important and emotionally immature man. He was unwilling to come to terms with the fact that an old flame of his was no longer interested in him, and his adolescent infatuation drove him to attempt suicide by drowning. I was peering into your tortured waves for a sea demon that appears briefly in the book. But like me you probably didn't get the significance of it.
