Description

Not a stellar example of fine photography, but I'm posting this one because I love the shadow cast by the water strider. The depressions on the surface of the water where the feet touch cause a really cool shadow effect. The title is in reference to the Jackie Chan movie "TUX", in which water striders played a key role. Jackie's character misunderstood the term, confusing it with the proper name Walter Strider.

You did very well to end with a shot like this. I spent an hour holding my camera just above a small path of water to get one like this. I never liked my photos as the focus was difficult to achieve. These striders move alot and often fast.
