Description

Nerves! Sheer terror sweeping through my system at the thought of my new business. Questions! Flooding my mind are pieces of doubt in disguise. Am I capable enough? Am I motivated? What if I fail? Answers! Only time will tell. I need to move, to do, to organise my life neatly and calmly. Yet still the doubts have very loud voices. Deafening reason to oblivion. I turn to my partner, the one I chose carefully to compliment my chaos and energy. A computerized voice of her answering service fills my ear,

And guess what! In the few minutes it took for me to write this, I managed to chat to my wait-'n-see and she pulled out of the partnership. We were going to sign papers this week.... Grrrrr. Oh well, I'll just have to go it alone...

I am glad to see you have more listed under "answers" than under "questions" - a good sign! LOL Good luck with the new venture Sue!

Hi Sue, Hope your use of the word "partner" is in the loose sense. In the States, partnerships can bite hard. Joint venture interest, and the popular Limited Liability Corporation keep the personal stuff inviolate. But yeah, going out on your own can be a bit scary. I did that in 1967 and hung on for through the wild swoops and peaks. Rubbed elbows with millionaires, and dug my own trenches with "sharp-shooter" shovels. You have to be ready to do e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g yourself. Best of luck. -- Dick

Wow, there are parts of me in this... Sleeplessness (not from doubting, just thoughts running through my mind), impatience....(so someone tells me, LOL. Ok, Ok, I admit it... maybe a little ;) )

Sometimes the best thing to spur someone on is avoiding those worst-case scenarios. It's a good thing to know you have the imagination to find them. I've adopted the motto, "When things can't get any worse then they can only get better". (Just never admit that things can't get any worse) I admire your courage, and wish you the best wishes. Excellent capture of emotion in this piece, I can feel the anxiety from every letter.
