Rozanne-I was about a 1/2 mile away from this massive steam. I could not smell the steam air and its a good thing because its composed of HCL which is dangerous for the lungs. Normally, lava streams are very quiet unless the bench collapse into the water where sometimes it will explode and hurl rocks into the air. For this one, I could not hear any sounds. Aloha
