Description

Tx for all the support on my wolf shot yesterday. I took this one in the zoo as well - this is my favourite buck of all time (female) the kudu is my fav male buck. Buck really are beautiful and often over looked. Any who - how you are enjoying this image. It was really hard to take due to the shadows and the timing, the buck was refusing to listen to me... Have a wonderful pre-weekend day.

Buck wonders why the sudden urge of celebrity? good pose, good moment, would have loved a closer / tighter crop

I know the focus on the body looks shocking but it is on the dark head - I will up the ISO and down the Aperture next time - Jinet's help!

Nice animal, opportune shot. I will not speak about the focus... The main problem in this photo is the head in the shadows while all other parts are in the light. So we dont see the eyes and it is a "traditional mistake". Well, the head can be in the shadow provided that there is a ray of light on the eyes. Remember that "Caracal - African Lynx - Africa" is excellent, but it is an exception because the eyes in the shadow are the main part of the composition.

A very secretive buck and they love to hang around in the shadows which spells doom for a photographer. A very enjoyable shot however! Something nobody touched so far: I'd try a fill in flash IF your flash is powerful enough over this distance - you will have to experiment a bit. Good luck!

The flash is only good for 12m and I don't have the cash for a bigger one now...

Ooh, look lion food ;) Don't worry too much about it - zebras do the same to me whenever I've pointed a camera at them, rotten animals just won't co-operate.

Nice shot Vera.. and the shadow on the head made it even better.. But it needed abit enhancements at least to lighten up that area.. and regarding the focus.. That can be fixed in less then 2 mins in Adobe.. And that image will be sharp as hell.. heheh Keep posting please.. Amazing. and wonderful Have a lovely weekend honey
