A beautiful shot, well composed and presented. My only nit would be that it looks a little grainy and the artifact is quite noticible on the entennies, on my monitor. Otherwise looks like a winner to me.

Outstanding shot, Kimmers! That light is so well captured! Now isn't it time for a better camera, to do your 'maturing' talent the justice it deserves?

This is a great composition. The light thru the wings. The flow of the background in combination with the foreground leaf. The pov. The colors. This is a very good photo also. Having the same camera as you, I fully understand how good a shot this is. You managed to capture detail in both the lit wings and in the shaded wings below. You got great detail in the body parts. The DOF is nicely defined, the butterflys are uniformly focused and I don't think the Nikon 7900 is capable of more than you managed to get. I am impressed that you managed to get set, get focused, and get the shot before they were gone. Well done indeed.

Really cool POV. I love looking at photographs where the photographer took the time to capture something new by perhaps taking the image from a different POV. With all the point and shoot cameras that are in people's hands, everyone can take a shot of a butterfly, but can they create an image like this one? Would they even think about the lighting like you have mentioned. I went off on the deep end here but ... :) Great image.

Well, Kims, there you go again, making us all look bad and jealous with envy! What great backlighting! Another perfect macro. Did you call your daughter out to witness this event? Do you have a butterfly fertility farm in your backyard? Is this the season for mating?
