I beg to disagree with you about the lack of quality. it does show the launch very well with excellent detail. thanks so much for posting. the closest I have been to a flight was when the shuttle blew up over Texas and something I will never forget

Wonderful photo Windy! You captured amazing detail! I'm so glad you got to experience the sound and feel of a live launch. There's nothing like it! Your photo reminds me of one I shot from almost the same angle of the very first STS when the main tank was painted white.

Not a photo guy{well, aren't we all?},but I will agree with your critique, large file size and no postwork{I,m guessing} might do that...still a mighty shot...what a privelage to be there, thanx for sharing...seen enough MSNBC shots, yours brings a more personal approach!

The shot may not be the best ever taken but it gives a nice personal touch to an amazing moment. To have been there would have been awsome and thanks for sharing the personal experience. I cannot believe that none of the regular television networks broadcast the event live. They interrupt programs to bring us such crap as the O.J. Bronco chase or similar crap, but don't think such thrilling and important events as sending people into space, worthy of interrupting the "soaps", lol.

I agree, the best fireworks ever. It was too far away for me to go see, so I'm glad you got a shot of it. Terrific job, I think you did great!

Lucky you! I'm sooooo jealous. We were there last week, well in KSC, it must be the most awe-inspiring thing to see. Imagine sitting inside it! I love the way you can still see the fuel tanks, especially when you zoom in.

Now there is something to treasure. Excellent
