Description

The North Pinellas Historical Museum is located inside "The Hartley House" in Palm Harbor, Florida. This house is fascinating. Well, the couple who built it are fascinating. In 1910, Mr. Hartley purchased *one* machine that produced concrete blocks. This machine made three concrete blocks at a time, and they were cured by being left in the sun. Because he was a frugal and patient man, he said there was no point in buying more than one of these machines, so the whole house was built 3 blocks at a time. It took nine years, and in 1919, Ida and Tom Hartley moved in. This sewing machine was donated by the Palm Harbor Historical Society to the museum.

Thank you so much, everyone. Jancory- I'm glad it brought back pleasant memories for you, if I made you smile, then I achieved my goal :) Andreas- I couldn't have done the coloring without you. I learned how by using your tutorial on your site :) You so rock, my friend.

Now THERE is a piece of history. Lovely use of selective coloring, but I would have liked to have seen the sewing machine off-center and mor to the right. Go Florida! =]

Neat shot. Good choice of a photo to do SC on. Sort of makes the old b&w and the modern in color.
