Description

The North Pinellas Historical Museum is located inside "The Hartley House" in Palm Harbor, Florida. This house is fascinating. Well, the couple who built it are fascinating. In 1910, Mr. Hartley purchased *one* machine that produced concrete blocks. This machine made three concrete blocks at a time, and they were cured by being left in the sun. Because he was a frugal and patient man, he said there was no point in buying more than one of these machines, so the whole house was built 3 blocks at a time. It took nine years, and in 1919, Ida and Tom Hartley moved in. This was the smallest, most tattered chair I've ever seen. It was approximately 2 feet tall, and maybe a foot wide. It was donated by the Palm Harbor Historic Society.

That's a true southern chair if I say so myself. It's amazing how many stories one item has. Great job
