Description

Every year I make an image to celebrate the Tour de France. So, this is the 2006 version. A lot more dufficult than I thought it would be, as soon as I started texturing all the different uniform colors. Made a very lorez rider and bike, then duplicated it 190 times. Took forever to assign mats to shirts, helmets and bike bodies. Each team has up to nine riders and I had to mix them up, while keeping track of which ones were done and which weren't. Then moving them into an "S" curve was a lot of fun too. I'm not known for my patience, that's why my style is based on "simple is best". 125mb file. Three terrains for the ground and road, made in Photoshop.

And I went nuts putting 30 Japanese into a single railcar! I can imagine what you went through setting this one up. Whew! You probably felt like you had actually been in the race itself by the time you finished this one.

"Don't be afraid of things because they're easy to do" says the Oblique Strategy card, and I like to follow that path myself. But sometimes putting in the work pays off, as it has here.
