Description

"The appearance of things change according to the emotions and thus we see magic and beauty in them, while the magic and beauty are really in ourselves." ~ Kahlil Gilbran "The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend." ~ Henri Bergson

Once again, we visit Fairchild Garden for yet another installment of my Chihuly exhibition series. I toyed with various presentations of this image, but in the end decided to go with what you see here. Isn't funny how some people just can't stay off their cell phones? The Floats in this lake remind me of giant crystal candy kisses, so let me take this opportunity to "give" them as a gift and wish all of the July babies a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I know that I missed Maggie's already, and as I look at my list I see that most of the people on it are no longer active at Renderosity. So those of you who have birthdays this month, you know who you are, and this is for you. 8') Have a terrific weekend everyone! ----- Thank you for your ruminative comments on my last upload, Perceptive Reflections.

The plot thickens--the images are not only brilliant and subtle on their own, but as the series builds itself over time into a major photoessay, the visual rhythms and ties between the images (in memory--and the eidetic are especially susceptible) deepen, eliciting not only a "Third Man" (the place supposedly photographed), but a "Fourth" (the mind and eye and technique of the photographer), with more than a hint of the "Fifth" which is.... (Oh yeah, another brilliant thumb as well).

The photo and text are most profound. Great water effect with the squiggly reflections. I like the contrast of the colorful kisses with the what is essentially a black and white photo. At first I felt the kisses resembled the Hershey candy variety, then they reminded me of the onion domes in Moscow.
