What a find!!!!! AND..... right in my backyard (so to speak)!!!! On thursday we went to explore a canyon a neighbor told us about. Only ten minutes up the highway, on a dirt road, up a canyon, we found a ghost town!!! Well I wouldn't really call it a ghost TOWN, as there were only three or four buildings, but still, I love finding old abandoned buildings!!!! All the old wood and windows to shoot into and out of!!! Whoo Hoo!!!! So I have several pics from this trip I might post. It was way up there and there were some terrific view I got also! Have a great weekend!!!! We are going moonlight mountainbike riding tonight!!!! Whoo Hoo!!!!

The use of light to form texture is just awesome in this shot - superb composition!!! This is GREAT! What I really like is the dynamic range of light - such perfect exposure throughout the image. But watch out for snakes!

So you did SAVE some pix's from our first place--man has the neighborhood changed! You my artist friend, beautifully have captured a past & present spot in time and space. You can actualy sit @ the long-gone table drinking your long-cold coffee watching the life outside being lived long-ago thru those windows, well maybe you shouldn't, but you could! I simply love your choice of INSIRATION... p.s. are you getting alot of smoke over on your side????

That IS a great find, and such a cool creative capture as well. If one found an abandoned building around here, chances are it will still be housing either homless, migrants, or drug addicts. So count your blessings! =] On a technical note, underexposing a little more might have helped keep some of the highlights from getting overexposed, but that is only a very minor quibble.

Great atmosphere. This is also composed very well, the natural lighting used to great effect.
