Description

Syd (Roger) Barrett,original Founder and song writer of Pink Floyd, has died at the age of 60. I have followed Pink floyds work for 30+ years and i was very saddened to hear of the loss of Syd Barrett a highly Influential song writer' Who inspired lots of the most outstanding artists in the sixties and seventies' and still a big influence today...He suffered a mental breakdown and never recovered'(But thats a media point of view) became a recluse and a Rock legend ......Strangely enough i heard the news in a post from Lenord. It was one of those "do you remember where you were when" moments.........Thanks Lenord. ___________________________________________ JUGBAND BLUES. Yes, I read about that. Man! Pink Floyd music rocks, and it was sad to read of his death. Very nice dedication Jim! (:

A fitting tribute Jim, looks like we are on the same page here. His death is a loss, but we lost him in the music world years ago. Still, the passing of an age. He was a breath of fresh air. The Gnome (Barrett) 2:13 I want to tell you a story About a little man If I can. A gnome named Grimble Crumble. And little gnomes stay in their homes. Eating, sleeping, drinking their wine. He wore a scarlet tunic, A blue green hood, It looked quite good. He had a big adventure Amidst the grass Fresh air at last. Wining, dining, biding his time. And then one day - hooray! Beautiful image.We were only listening to Echoes in the car on a long trip at the weekend and talking about Syd Barrett. Then we heard the sad news. Ditto everything that's been said here
