Description

Sorted out the sizes of the stars using the Stars program from the IIUtilities and WinUAE, allowing me to re-render the nebula in IFA 5.0 under emulation. Whitestars by Keir D'arby. The energy beams could do with a bit more work, the outer fog-objects gone transparent at this angle. (Three tubes- 1st one to create the main beam, second one 1.01 larger and the third one larger again then joined to the second to create a 'solid' exterior. Both made fog objects and fnoise applied to the outer one. At least they've stopped casting shadows!) Rendered in IFW 1.0.

B5...now that was a kool sci-fi show ! Lightwave and 20 PC's in parallel to render the 3D FX... and now another freak out...Imagine 3D ? WOW I thought that program was forgotten and lost forever, shows you how much I know ! in the show the animators use a semi transparent fractal noise texture on the laser's, not to sure how to do it in Imagine...good luck & Cheers

Very cool kevin....have you tried the 'happy easter' thread over at the other Imagine site[re: abandonware]....these would be way easier to do with volumetric objects....
