I'm sure many of you have heard by now of the July 7 passing of legendary musician Roger Keith "Syd" Barret at age 60. While his musical career was fairly brief (by today's standards), he made a lasting impact on his fellow band mates in Pink Floyd, on David Bowie and many others. While many musical careers seem to be like fires that have since dampened into slow burning embers, his was like a flare -- bright, colorful and succinct. ----- SYDISMS Fairy-tales are nice. Have you seen the roses? There's a whole lot of colours. I don't really read a lot. Maybe I should. I like songs that are simple. I wasn't always this introverted. I'm disappearing, avoiding most things. I'm full of dust and guitars. I'm sorry I can't speak very coherently. I'm treading the backward path.
