Description
Before uploading the picture called "A Pub Called Hell" I should have posted this one. The Gallows House is possibly the smallest pub in the country. Just around the corner is the Castle of the Count, so no wonder criminals were executed here in the old days.

A pub you say, where people drink beer and play hangman. Nice job on the framing.

Reply to Margana The poster on the right (tiny in this picture) is the official cartoon face inviting everybody (though not too many people) to this year's Ghent Festivities, held each year in July for ten days (this year between Saturday, July 15 and Monday, July 24). It is a combination of a village green fete with stalls and stands, concerts in open air as well as in the usual theatres (my favorite singer, Diana Krall, is performing in one this year), fireworks at night, whatever. It's also meant for everybody: young people, the elderly, families. Needless to say, while most shows are in Dutch, or the Ghent dialect (which nobody understands except us Ghentians), there are also shows in English. The reason why I said "not too many people" is that last year the Ghent Festivities drew nearly 2 million visitors. Some of us have been thinking, Hey, this is OUR fete! (We're a bit chauvinistic, but then we don't want to give up our very own celebration of summer.)
