Description

Ultrafractal 3.02 Here's one I've been holding on to since my "brown period". (more like "Brown 45 from Uranus Corp" - name THAT movie and you'll be dating yourself - lol) I'm not real sure about it, but it seems to have grown on me so I figured I'd see what y'all thought. Maybe too dark/muddy or artsy-fartsy? I'm fixing to be down for a few days while I 1) install the Waterchill Xternal cooler to my too-hot-for-comfort CPU and Northbridge chips, 2) Re-flash new firmware to my Maxtor Diamondmax HHDs that should solve a timeout/hangup problem in RAID configs that they don't - offcially - own up to until you actually call and ask for the specific files. And 3) I may decide to wipe my RAID 0, Marvell SATA2 setup and reconfig to use the Intel IHCR7 chipset on my mobo that is supposed to be much more stable. Too many little weirdnesses running this Marvell setup. Sure hope I don't leak antifreeze all over the place and the pump is reliable. Software should shut my rig down if things get too hot. Gonna try for a fairly conservative overclock around 4.2-4.4GHz (Intel got 5.5GHz out of this setup - too risky for my tastes) to use just when rendering. Sigh - I'm having fun with this new beast but sometimes wish for the serenity of a store-bought pc - lol. Thanks, again, for stopping by and especially for your MUCH appreciated encouragement and occasional really valuable suggestions/critiques! Rick

No, it's not too dark or artsy Rick. Just right. I like the dark mood it invokes. And really love the grid in the backgound. It gives the landscape a real sense of depth and scale. Great job.

Rick a feast for the eye ,so much going on here ,all those delicious details ( some of them I`d like to see larger) and those wonderful shades of brown and grey ,make it a rich and fantastic work of art . I read the book a very long time ago .by Erskine Caldwell if I remember correctly :)

Great song and great picture. Not too dark or muddy, just a different color palette that seems right for these forms. Really nice one!

Absolutely not to artsy-fartsy. This has a very cool sci/fi, antique sort of feel. It's beautiful!

Hello Rick - this is certainly an UltraFine picture for us all to admire ! I particularly like the almost Renaissance-like antiquity brought about by the subdued rusty colour tones & painted canvas effect. The chequered floor disappearing into the distance adds considerable depth to your picture through geometric perspective ! Xcellent stUFf **** C-ya , Mike !

Mmm! I see a guy (two eyes) with a long, long nose in the top left corner. I suppose he once upon the tobacco rode? (sorry, but everyone else has said the good stuff). Love the perspective.
