I finally figured out that I had to use flash when at the shore. I am so pleased with how well this came out! There is more driftwood like this along the shore by th jetties. I can't wait to see them. That is the one thing I do like about traditional cameras.The anticipation! No the horizon isn't off. Between the tide coming in and a barge making its way out of the channel, that was one huge wave! Not more than 30 min earlier when I took this, I was swimming not more than 30ft away from dolphins. That was so cool!In the morning they come out and play with the surfers while they wait for the waves. I do hope that everyone has had a great weekend.

Swimming with dolphins is not that rare in So. Cal. and down around Newport beach, one can swim with sea lions, although far less friendly. And if scuba is your thing (as was mine) then swimming with sharks is also common. These are smaller striped sharks that mostly avoid divers or at least, they very rarely bite. Been close enough to touch them many times.. They are about 4 feet long and very pretty. Well, excel Photo Michele. Interesting driftwood formation too.
