Description

(best viewed full size) Vacations are fun and it's grand to see new places & things, and make new friends. I've shown pictures here at Renderosity of this year's and last year's vacation. Those that know us, also know that Mike and I always loved collecting fossils. So the heart of these vacations has been to specifically collect a few fossils. Here are a few from this year in Canada (leaves), and last year in South Dakota (bone). It's hopefully a yearly tradition that I do for me and in honor of Mike. Thanks very much for all your kind comments on my recent postings! ... Maria

Very cool fossils Maria! I love trilobites! I love fossil hunting too, but I don't get to do it much these days. :)

Well, I didn't know!!! Darn - I'm always the LAST to know! Ah... But I have to say, if I could retire now I would love to spend my time helping out on archeology sites. The past is so fascinating, be it animal or veggie! I'm so impressed with this beautiful presentation - thanks so much for showing it. Wonderful work, Maria (and Mike)!!!!

What a lovely array of fossils! I am glad that you still do this and although Mike is not here, you will have wonderful times still doing the things you loved doing together. I really love that you can see the fossils so well. Fantastic job and it sounds like fun!

Your vacation sounded so super, I always had an interest in archeology, well when I was younger that is. Now I think just photographing the stuff is just as great... :0...:-)... but to collect is wonderful also. It's nice to have all the memories of our S.O.'s favorite things. Always a treasure.. Thanks Maria for shareing your treasures.. :)

I love this collection! My favorites are the trilobites and the redwood/birch leaves. But the Caprolites in the sand box have me laughing out loud:) I am also amazed that you found part of a T-rex tooth!

You're way ahead of me. In all my travels, I've never found a fossil. Maybe next year I should vacation with you and Mike. :-)
