Description

This catepillar was seen coming from a hole in the earth today. The temps were near 90f(32c) and quite hot. A few moments later, back into the cool of the hole below. The critter kept one foot in the door, stretched, streeeeetccched and went back down. Too hot to come into the world above ground today. Compo was a bit limited due to sun angle and the only available shooting position. Still, here is a bug on its way to being some other bug for you to view. Macro with Sigma 50mm macro lens, manual focus. Note to those who have not tried macro shots, depth of field is vital! Note how the back of the critter nearer the hole is going out of focus. This is depth of field limits though shot at f/16.
