Description

I live in Westchester county in NY, and last week we had an F2 tornado, the strongest in the county's history. We may have had a second, less powerful one in White Plains a week later (they say it was probably a microburst that did it). I figured tornadoes usually happened on flat land. Guess I was wrong. Figured I'd make a tornado scene, in the spirit of this totally screwed-up severe weather we've been getting in the Northeast. Just wanted to use a simple grassy-looking surface. Used Photoshop CS to put in a picture I took last August while on vacation in South Carolina, and then PS to make the tornado. Blur in the background and in the clouds to try to show humidity. Feel free to comment. Thanks for viewing, and have a nice day!

I know I shouldn't say this because of the mass destruction tornados cause...........but I think your render is awesome. I love your sky and the intensity in your render!! Excellent! May I also add when theres tornados I hide under my bed and pray not to become Dorothy.

The postwork creating the tornado is great, the Terragen part needs some improvement IMO: the simple green layer used here looks like a quick solution to render a terrain that would fit for the tornado sky.

Impressive and scary. A bit too dark to see any details.

We were dring down highway 84 the otherday. My sister mentioned she wouldn't be surprised to see Dorothy go by, because we were going @ 20 miles an hour due to weather. We made it home OK then heard about the tornado on the news! Thanks for sharing

might be a bit too dark to see all the details but thats what a tornado would do to your vision when your this close - right - possibly add a few lighter grey swirls and this image would look perfect - nice photo sky in the background too! lovin your recent worX!
