Hello all! I felt this was a lucky capture cause first of all you don't see a BIG bright red passion flower everyday ( well maybey you do but I had never seen one ) and was lucky to get the butterfly on it -( not exactly sure what kind of it is..?) ...still, I have had this one on the back burner cause the grain and background was a tad distracting played with it today a little and its a bit better now..this is one of those I had to contort my body to get untill my back hurt LOL!!..., hope you like it ! * please view at full size for best viewing /result -thanks ! * Thank you for all your time and comments ! Another beautiful capture from Kim's endless treasure trove of butterflies! In an effort to bring some joy into our lives, she's not only an accomplished photographer but also a dedicated contortionist. Very nice, soft backlighted effect of the insect's wings. I thought of a World War I British or French fighter plane when I first looked at it. I also like the macro display of the passion flower, especially the red tendrils. Harry the Hugger

Now that is the most beautiful image I have seen in a while! POV, right on! Steve brings me flowers handpicked all the time ether from our flower garden, the side of the road florist, or the local Jim Dandy, :-)but they never have a butterfly on them....lol, usually SPIDERS!!!.....lol, just kidding!!!, super shot here, simply wonderful!

I believe it's a woodland moth - the color blends into the bark of trees and hides them from birds and other preditors. It's amazing to see one on such a beautiful flower, just another example of your superb photography and wonderful eye for beauty and nature.
