Description

Yesterday (Sunday) we went for a peaceful float down the Wabash River in a raft. It was beautifully serene. However, it was a bit farther than we had calculated and seven hours later we were forced by the onset of darkness to land our worthy (if small) craft in someone's backyard. After deflating the S.S. Bunny, we had to carry it, oars, backpack, and lunch cooler two and a half miles to get to the van. Heh heh! The river was wonderful and we had a great time in spite of it all, and had to show you its lovely green color. Have a great week! Thanks for looking! Ken

Well, take me back down where cool water flows, yeah. Let me remember things I love, Stopping at the log where catfish bite, Walking along the river road at night, Barefoot girls dancing in the moonlight. I can hear the bullfrog calling me. Wonder if my rope's still hanging to the tree. Love to kick my feet 'way down the shallow water. Shoefly, dragonfly, get back t'your mother. Pick up a flat rock, skip it across Green River. Awesome image Ken!!!!

One of the things I miss most out here in Sacramento are gentle summer rain showers. We just don't get them. We don't get rain at all, actually. There is something so fresh and alive in those moments after a shower has cleansed the dust off the plants and washed the air around you that makes you feel invigorated and glad to be a part of all things great and small. Lovely capture and a lovely afternoon for you.

What a day it was. I mean, over 7 hours in the raft, then another 40 minutes or so walking back to the van. It was so beautiful, so peaceful. I can't believe we didn't see one other person on the river, and only the two guys fishing, oh wait I forgot about the guy on the bridge. Wonderful day dear and great shot to remember it by.

OMG!! You are a trouper Ken!! Did you use your giant zucchinis as stabilizer pontoons? Hahahahaa...I can see it now. The last time I went canoeing, 3 canoes moored on a tree trunk in the river, right before the exit point and spent an extra hour and a half drinking up the rest of the beer and heckling all the other canoeists. We are so bad :D

Wonderful capture of the river and the tree line. Sorry your dingy sprung a leak. Thank you for sharing both the story and the beautiful photo. :)
