Description

Tx for the fantastic comments on yesterday's image. Another of my plays - I really enjoyed creating these. As glennn23 said I "broke" rules but it's art not so much photographic perfection this time - creating something light out of something dark - I'll be posting the originals and you'll see exactly how different they are. To all a wonderful Tuesday!

Don't forget that rules will hepl you mainly to get CONSTANT quality. Rules are made to be broken, but preferably when you know them and understand why it is time to break them (books or photoclub practice would help you to achieve that). According to this, yesterday picture was a total success. The photo of today is excellent too, with a strong artistic touch ! In your oppinion, what is the reason why ?

I'm confused - what is the reason why? Not sure what you mean but I did the edit work to show the texture and what light the rose gave off. I whated to give the beauty that once was there. Why it's a good image? It comes from the heart and feel and meaning was stamped into the image. I believe those count for something... Is that what you mean?

Superb done again ! That's really a very beautiful and interesting shot, who touch my heart. I know that Je (Jinet) is right in his comment about technical part. But what is more important ? a perfect and technical shot who send no emotion, or another one, maybe completly wrong on his technical way, but with a poetry, and who send us all the emotion you feel when you take it ???? Maybe I'll never been a good photographer, because I don't want and I refuse to make the good thing just because usually it may be in a way... For me a good photography, is the one who touch me, who send me a message. Then your's are perfect for me ;o)))) Thank you for so much poetry ! Hugs

aww it died. I like your off center setting of the rose, and the idea of using a dying rose is interesting too. Beautiful colour and clarity :-)

Edited later... Original comment: You mentioned me in your commentary - does a little dance Cool! As for the rule breaking, you seem to be making a career of it, so to speak. I think jinet is saying that usually it is a good idea to perfect the techniques before you go and start changing things. But you like to do things differently I see and that is okay - some people like to take the long way around. Problem with the long way is we tend to make way more mistakes than are necessary in order to hit on that one great one. And sometimes there is a fine line between breaking a rule and using bad technique. For me, in all honesty and with complete respect for what you are trying to do, I think yesterday you did the former and today's is closer to the latter. Like I said, there is a fine line... Added later: Joe (nattarious) expressed surprise - I am sticking to my guns here... A good image is like a beautiful house; we enter the image and our eye drifts through the passageways and eventually explores every nook. Vera's image from yesterday did this, although I would call it more like a funhouse at the fair - we entered and found surprises and strange things caught our attention. Today, we entered and were stopped at the first door. The eye enters on the bottom left and attempts to move naturally to the center and beyond... yet it cannot get beyond the huge area that lacks focus and finds no reason to explore either of the remaining corners. The negative space here simply does not work to balance the positive part of the image. Vera is my friend and I believe she would be happier to know what people feel does or does not work because that is why she is here, I read it right in her homepage too.

rules???? I did not read them so I can not break them lol. I play around too much and have fun so I like you it comes from the heart. My camera will not let me shoot a lot of things I wish for. Hope to get a better one soon so I can shot in low lighting a drop os neon paint into oil just to see how it looks; but you rose is lovely as it show a slice of life all go thought
