Hello all!
WE have been having a terrible heat wave here in Southern California. The guy at the gas station showed me a picture of the reading the other day 120 degrees at one point ..!!... like an oven outside!! So what to do?..
GO with the girls ice skating LOL!!.. ( there is a huge rink a few miles from my home ).
WOW! it was definatly COOL in there . Real cool - yep even needed a sweater infact!!...what a way to beat the heat!!...
.I skated too! hehe weeee... it was fun!!
Before I did, I looked around for something to shoot. IT was the ordinary crowd - kids in blue jeans and t-shirts. Nothing much out of the ordinary. SO I walked up stairs to the upper level snack bar locker area to shoot down from above. I thought I could get a good pov looking down . BUt then something caught my eye to the right . Light was pouring in from the upstairs window, And then there she was in her sparkaly outfit so pretty !!... I asked if I could shoot her with my little nikon 7900 . (The great thing about that cam is no one feels threatened i just look like a mom who is overly camera happy ( lol haha actually Thats me!! ) ... and she continued to pose practicing all that she had just learned in her summer session - with her sweater on- no heat wave in there lol!!... I liked this shot for her pose it reminded me of a beautiful ballerina and felt it was lucky as I only took a couple quick shots real quickly up there..!!

You really have a great eye for opportunity! This is a wonderful shot, so well composed, she looks so statuesque. Your framing is perfect, matching the exterior framing of the windows....the arena may want this for display.

Oh what a wonderful indoor photography! The view and light setting aginst the bright huge window on the background looks marvellous! You got her just at the right moment! What an elegant looking scene! I love the cool atmosphere here even if I can see that it's very hot and dry outside! Thanks for this fascinating posting! Bravo!!!

Very beautiful back-light. The skater which one guesses elegant the sihouette, is well located on your stereotype, because you prevented that the external light, does not come to destroy this back-light! In more you were spoiled by a gracious mode which can take the installation

revised comment. :o)b Hi Kim, good morning! I was studying this trying to figure out if it was a real person ....or a statue...LOL...then I noticed the SKATES! Ha Ha...I thought it was a museum piece! The comp of this shot is perfect! The way the architecture frames her is like a well wrapped present. (This is the conclusion I came to while looking at it in my favs) STILL hard to think of cold and sweaters and ICE when it's so hot outside! Thanks for the cooler. :o)b
