Description

Hi Guys, I just finished this painting and thought I would post it before I turn in! This is a lake from my childhood. Starting from the age of nine to sixteen, I would go every summer to YMCA summer camp in the San Bernardino Mountains, in Southern California, like a half an hour away from Big Bear. I would sell butter toffee peanuts all year long so I could go on an adventure for a week or two out of the summer. This is Jenks Lake. It was the lake that all the camps in the area used, so I would go there every summer, even though I would go to different camps. It is a special memory for me, and outside of spending time with my aunt and uncle in Lake Havasue, it was my ultimate childhood summer memory! Hope you like it, and that that summery feeling comes across! Check out the larger version it is much clearer!! I do want to say thanks to all of you who commented on my last post, and am glad that you enjoyed it!

I really like the impressionist flavor of this painting, and it's nice to view some real art. There's something about the texture of the brush that brings a person back to view a fine work of art time and again. Photos lack that quality. Your comments rang a bell too - I used to love the annual camping trips with my father better than Christmas. To this day there is no place I'd rather be than in the woods. A beautiful painting, and thanks for sharing.
