Description

This is the second half of my post, a still frame from the animation I posted yesterday. I was up on our roof with a tripod (Tripods work great on roofs!) Taking pictures of a very electrical storm off in the distance. I also reposted the storm animation, now instead of just two frames it has many more, but I had to shrink it a lot. "Summer Storm (Animation)" Thanks for all the comments on the last one! Have a great weekend, and stay cool!! ; )

Yes, very powerful. How did you succeed in timing to capture the lightning flash in what looks to be a day time shot?

This really is a great photo and must have been quite a sight to see. Not sure I'd be sitting on a roof in the middle of a lightning storm holding what is basically a lighting conductor. :-) Hats off to your bravery.

I'm surprised you didn't have bare feet or pour a bottle of water over yourself while grasping the metal tripod? Just kidding. Excellent, powerful photo.

On the roof in a lightening storm?? Were you wearing a tin foil hat and receiving messages from outspace??? Are you nuts!!! Hahaha...can't believe you got away unscathed. You must be very lucky indeed :) Excellent capture though.

Tripod on the roof--the infamous TVA dog story (of which more later). But it don't move, nor the thumb, or didn't I wait long anough?

Really cool cloud formations. I love electric storms. I love the dramatic stirring of the elements. I'm wondering if that is the true colors of the clouds/sky. Looks unusual. Kinda orangish.

it is a spectacular storm and capture. remember lightning can travel horizontaly for many miles. 2-3 women here got shocked from lightning just the other day and they was not near the initial strike, but it traveled through the ground and a stone fence and came out through them.serious condition -both
