Description

Still practising painting with oils. Canvas sized 27 x 35 cm (about 11 x 14 inches). My neighbour asked me to paint a portrait of her dog "Suffeli", an already 11 years old lady (Welsh Corgi). Here it is - but I haven't given it her yet; so if you've got any crits or suggestions I'd be happy to hear them! Thank you! (btw: I even get a fee of this painting:-) I hope this painting will be accepted also as an image for 2D Forum's July Theme - Exploring textures and surfaces. Thanks for your interest. I'd be really happy if you've got some time to leave your comment here too. Thanks! I deeply appreciate your comments, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, for your words under my previous pictures.

It's beautiful, Titta; there's something in the doleful facial expressions of dogs that fascinates us humans, perhaps it's a sadness that we empathise with, but cannot express ourselves; this, you've successfully captured in your beautiful portrait.

Titta, this is fabulous. You really did marvels in capturing the different textures of Suffeli's fur, and the colors are great. I really have to agree whole-heartedly with WeeLaddie. Everything said is right on target as far as I am concerned. Excellent painting.

Wonderful painting ... I'm sure that Suffeli is happy with this too. What's not to like about it? I love the fur and, of course, Suffeli's expression is priceless. Well done!

....you have a very lucky ( and soon to be very happy ) neighbor ..... ( perhaps you could move on to the Queen of England's corgi's next ! ) -- would love to see this painting in the flesh to get all the nuances ---- you are a painter par excellance.

What a lovely painting! I'm sure she will love it. And you did such a nice job with this. She looks very much like a dog that was part of our family years ago. Thanks for the memories.

Well you deserve a fee for this, Titta! The real test here will be to impress Suffeli's owner, something I think you will be able to do...

Thanks for your comment on my little landscape Titta and I cant tell you where the little guy is, maybe he is taking some vacation ;o) I am sure that your neighbourhood will love this! Paintings are something very personal and esp. portraits, wich shows not only the object itself, like on a photo. Something very personal always shines through on a portrait. Love it ;o)
