Description

Herring Point, DE Is this a little busy? Well yes, but so was I this day. I had been left all alone with no one to play with. Until, I looked down and low and behold, there standing before me were my long lost friends, Me, Myself and I! They were a little camera shy but after a while they finally gave in to my whims. After all, this was a special day! Me was such a horndog checking out all the guys. Myself was busy building sandcastles and trying to coax little ones out of their shovels and pails! I sat and watched content with the view! ~~~~~ The background is the jetty where these shots were taken. The borders to the shots were taken on the right of the jetty. The border to the right is a shot of thousands of baby clams that would wash up with each wave. To the left is what is left as the wave would recede. I was amazed not only in the numbers but also how fast they would disappear into the sand. I'd never seen anything like it before! The shots of my shadows were taken to the right of the jetty. Again, I was amazed at how nature works. Here on this side there were no clams! The shots were taken at the same time, as the water came to my feet, then, as the water receded. The only post work done was on the shadow in the water. I decreased the brightness to -3 and increased the contrast to + 2. I do hope everyone is having a wonderful and safe summer despite the heat. ~Michelle~

Very creative work. Shadows can be fruit for inspiration.

A most delightful work, and most thought provoking! :) I showed my Grandson my bag of hand shadows while up visiting, indeed, I was young! :)

I think my shadow is afraid of the flash because I can't seem to ever catch him in a photograph. He must run at the speed of light. Your verse is very nice Michelle. I think youth is wasted on the young. Also, I was kicking the can just today.. dang toilet wouldn't stop running. And I blow bubbles all the time in the bath tub too... albeit smelly ones... I gave up shadow boxing long ago, it's precognitive powers where amazing and it could always block my punches. Ok.. Seriously.. I used to lie in bed, as a child, and watch the shadows of the leaves from the tree outside my window created by passing car headlamps. I was amazed at the intricate patterns of dark and light that morphed across my wall.. Almost as fun as watching TV.. well.. maybe not.. but was real cool to fall to sleep by anyway. And as for youth.. within the next 20 years science will be able to reverse the aging process and we can do it all over again.. almost forever.. looking forward to that day. Cool image work too young lady! best to you and hugs from Dave :^)
