Description

...just outside Port Townsend, Washington. There were lots of whales to be seen, but this was the best I could do with a point and shoot camera in the afternoon. Unfortunately, I spent most of the morning in the bottom of the boat, as the waters were extremely choppy!! Boats are now required to stay a good distance away, and one can only hope the whales decide to swim closer to the boat. You can see the male Orca in the front with a female and a juvenile Orca in the back. Thanks for taking the time to have a look and thanks very kindly for your previous comments ...Maria

Wow! I would love to see some Killer Whales. What a terrific shot this is! I swear, you had the most amazing vacation. I'm jealous, and I live here!!!! I'd also love to see these guys from the air. The view is so much clearer. I wonder if it would be possible to charter a small plane? A wonderful photo and post - thanks Maria!

Haha that reminds of that commercials "Orcas! Orcas! Oh Orcas are my favorite" "I thought we agreed Orcas were MY favorite." lol Great shot :-)

This is better than any of my Orca shots from Alaska. You did really well; they're so hard to shoot, since they're moving and the boat is too. Very nice, Maria.

Such freedom! I was born in Bremerton, Washington, but left the area when I was very young. Ive always wanted to return because I know how beautiful the area is. This calls me!
