Description

The image reminded me of a sci-fi paperback I read as a kid, these poses and outfits suggested a title of the book... "Distant Suns" This image was rendered in Carrara 5, with only one light. Poser couldn't even get passed the loading materials stage of a render without telling me to reduce that, delete this, switch to... it was only a Poser 4 render as well... so out came Carrara. Originally rendered at 3300x2000 pixels... it took 4 hours to do, and the skin is not great, hair rendered badly, polygons were not smoothed and the whole image lacks that crispness that Poser can give. Still to be fair I should take something from Carrara that looks great and render it in Poser... Thanks for having a look and commenting Deane Gees I'm getting confused with filenames tonight...

It's really good, I like it. My Poser would have kicked up just loading 2 Vicky's (I get cross talk) yet alone all those textures. Welll done Deane :)

Although I am not a big fan of SciFi i like this image a lot. It is similar the oldfashioned comicbooks, indeed :) What it makes really interesing -for me too- are the poses and your texturework. Amazing ^^

I'm not a big sci fi fan either but about the quality of your image I cna say it is first class!!! Your posing is marvelous and the outfits too and the render quality..... that are things which happen and we all know that. I'm honest by a 4 hour render I would have cancelt everything and made an other image, LOL!!!!!! I'm impatient!!!!!!!!!LOL Hugs Ute

I think it looks just excellent Deane, so much so that I was thinking I'd have to invest in Cararra!!

I am not surprised that Poser balked. lol. You must have really gone to town in your runtime folder for clothing. They have sooooo many items of clothing on and it is two characters with lots of details and clothing and props. Are you trying to fry your computer ??? LOL. I am really glad that Carrara was up to the task. I do see some differences from your Poser renders. This image has just a tiny bit less 3 dimensionality to it. I like the quality it has though, as it looks more like a painting on canvas. This is a really excellent image. You have really put together one heck of a scene even though you do not seem pleased with it. I like it !! So there !!! LOL. Hugsssss

Awesome work Deane! Excellent characters and outfits!! Know exactly what you mean... I was given this amazing light set, but every time I try to use it, Poser packs a sad and my computer goes walkabout... one day maybe... I hope - LOL!!

The shadows are marvelous. And I can imagine Poser barfing on this scene - those outfits are loaded with hires textures! I usually use Vue when scenes become too complex (i.e. just about every scene I make), and Vue has some of the same limitations. But they can be worked around. The composition is awesome, and I love the expressions. Great image!

I am continually amazed by the work you put forth. Your compositions always hold a "true-to-life" element of emotion, be it humor or sadness or fear, and the facial expressions are consistent with this emotion. I LOVE them all! Keep 'em coming!
