Description
I've not uploaded anything for a while - been busy. I was just using Bryce 3D and found a way to create SOFT SHADOWS without using clusters of lights and longer render times. This technique doesn't work 100% but it is quick and easy.
Simply create your object & texture but turn off CAST SHADOW then duplicate you object and reduce it in size very slightly. Then change the texture to FUZZY and turn CAST SHADOW ON.
Has anyone tried this before????

Very interesting, thanks.

Clever technique, though it would be cumbersome if you had a lot of objects casting shadows. I've sometimes turned off the cast shadow setting for select objects, when their shadows created unnecessary confusion in a composition. What a god-like power - to cause an object to disobey the laws of physics & not cast a shadow!
