Description

"If I don't write to empty my mind, I go mad." ~ Lord Byron "Empty pockets never held anyone back. Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that." ~ Norman Vincent Peale "Big egos are big shields for lots of empty space." ~ Diana Black "Education's purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one." ~ Malcolm Forbes "The empty vessel giveth a greater sound than the full barrel." ~ John Lyly "An empty book is like an infant's soul, in which anything may be written. It is capable of all things, but containeth nothing." ~ Thomas Traherne Please view at full size to see both images.

Sorry for the size of the file, but to "animate" a detailed image of this size and maintain any quality, it had to be big. I spent a good while tweaking it to get it just under 500KB. It is still not as large as I would like, but you can't have everything. When working on this photo I couldn't decide which I liked better, the B&W or the color version. So I give you both for you to decide. I had to leave the glowing red EXIT sign in both though. This is an empty bank next to where my son takes Tae Kwon Do. While waiting for his class to end I wandered over to it with my camera and found that it was no longer an active bank. The offices have moved to another location. Quite a shame really because it has a beautiful mural on the front side and some wonderful blue tile work. Looking in through the door, I saw that though abandoned, it looked as though it could open up for business at a moment's notice. Everything was left in it's place. It was a strange feeling, like it was inhabited by ghosts...though Ebenezer Scrooge is the only one that I could think of that would want to haunt a bank. 8^] ----- Thank you for your flakey comments on my last upload, Painted Perspectives. Have a great weekend everyone!

Most of the time I prefer color versions...same here. Quite a nice perspective in this one. The beige-rose tones are beautiful.

Very nice, simple shot, and you made a good decision to animate it so we could see both versions. That quote from John Lyly, however, is crap. Some of the most intelligent people have been loud.

This may have been even better if the color shot had actually had the lights on?

Clever work here Kort, I tend to lean towards the sepia tone in this one...not to say it's not as nice in BW. I appreciate the time involved in animating this image, very nice work here! Aloha!

Another winner from an imaginative mind! I like the POV perspective. Nice effect of the lighting bouncing off the interior. Like the black and white version on this go around.

"Ne pas choisir--c'est l'animation" Jean-Paul SArtre Major withdrawal. At first glance thought it was a library. Suppose the money is gone too. To kenon--does it exist save symbolically?

COOOL. It is animated sort of. I like it in both color and BW. This image has a very empty and almost barren feel to it, like a metaphor for loneliness. Really excellent shot. This is the kind of work I really like. Full of emotion in an understated way.
