Description

Hi folks. The following is a yucky story about a yucky photo of a yucky-looking bird....So I don't blame you if you decide not to read any further...I'm not sure I would even want to...So this is my way of warning you, guys.Okay? Okay. Aw,I knew your curiousity would get the better of you, lol.Okay, last chance...it's still not too late to back out,you know. Lol,you really can't help yourself, can you? Okay then, you asked for it... I was fiddling with my camera last week in my brother-in-law's backyard, when someone called to me ,'Ooh,look at that funny bird.Quick,Marlene get a picture!' The kids were all playing in the jacuzzi and this little guy had flown right up to the edge of it,seemingly oblivious to any form of threat from them,whatsoever....and he was chirping his little fool head off.So I rushed over towards him,and just as I put the camera up to my face,he flew off to the other side of the yard. But now,he was in an even better position for me,for he had perched himself on the fence directly at my eye-level.So I approached him slowly, trying not to frighten him and surprise ,surprise,he didn't fly away.He just kept sitting there chirping and chirping and chirping. Finally, when I got good and close to him,I put my cam up to my eye and zoomed in as much as I could.Focused...and Click!Got him! And that's when he turned his head...and...and...EWWW!...His right eyeball had been half pecked out!EWWWWW!!!!!!....And,yuck(!) I got to see it up close and personal.....brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! :^/ Well, needless to say,I screamed and ran away, camera swinging wildly at my neck, with a major case of the heebie-jeebies. So...what's the moral of this story? One,always....always(!)...wear your camera strap! And two... Well,I think I'll let you guys figure that one out for yourselves.Lol. Thanks for looking and for any comments you see fit to leave.I hope I didn't gross you all out too much. But hey,I did warn ya,didn't I? Sincerely, Marlene :^)

He looks so sweet, kind of him to turn the right side at you first. I can see you rushing away, such drama in miniature. Wonder what your children said :-)

2nd moral is? hmmm be the other person with a camera near by, to take photos of some wild screaming lady running. Maybe. I was reading along thinking it was going to be a cute story too. Poor birdie. Way better shot on the fence I bet than the jacuzzi. Entertaining you are Marlene! Have a fantastic week hugs

LOL!!!!! that's a bit too close to my zen eye story for me, at least I still have my eyeball left in tact!!!!! I can only imagine you sneaking up on this little bird with such intrest and then Zap, being horrified!!! LOL!!!! You did however capture his good side perfectly. The amazing part to me is that he just carries on chirping & chirping, like there's no tomorrow!!!!!!! Love your story!!!!!

So the second moral of your story would be that you shouldn't sneak up on chirping, innocent-looking fluff-balls since they ... um ... might have had a run-in with a cat?? :)) Beautiful, crisp and detailed - and he looks very proud with that pose (in reality, of course, he is hard at work estimating the perfect moment to show you the other eye - for maximum effect:)
