Description
Black powder. AKA New Model Army Texas Buffalo. It was very accurate and popular due to its 12" barrel and could bring down small game.

Wow! nice looking weapon. Your pic of it is well set up. Good work. Jenny

I believe clint eastwood used these in two of his movies. the practice of "speed-loading" (carrying around several cylinders loaded with powder, wads and round balls, and primed with caps) allowed these to fire at a rate of about 1-2 rps, as long as the spare cylinders lasted.

I'm not a gun fan but this is a beautifully styled weapon, none the less. Fine shot!

Good looking gun. I have an 1851 Colt Navy Replica also Italian in 44 calibre. I would not want to have to "speed load" because the barrel pin has to come out and the whole barrel has to slide off before the cylinder comes out.

Elegantly styled! It makes me wonder what the golden coloured (bronze?) metal is made of.

Brass framed, Remington, denoted by the curved area in front of the cylinder.I love these things, but they are illegal in England.It.s a Remington army model, .44 or .36 cal with a non standard barrel length.'Ned Buntline' a newspaper reporter had a Colt's peacemaker made with an 18" barrel for Wyatt Earpe,so this could be a rare piece or a very imaginative fake.Whichever way it falls it's a lovely picture.
