Description
At a recent Airshow here I got a chance to see the TravelAire Mysteryship R, Designed in 1928 By a Herb Rawdon, (Still trying to find out if he's a relative or not.) Was entered against the top Military aircraft the US had at the time and beat them by an embarrassing margin.

Sweet! I've always had a fondness for plane designs of that era. IMHO you might have done better to have walked ove to the yellow liness on the blacktop and shot there, if there would have been only field and blue sky in the background.(Of course for all I know there would have been a Mall or a drive-in for a background then!LOL). Lovely capture though!

Magic capture Don, sleek lines and it's RED, now wonder it whooped the Military, you get an extra 10% power increase when you paint 'em red ! hehehe. well done Cheers

Dear Don, Another great view!! Let me know if you figure out the family connection!! Back in the REALLY OLD days when THE Boss was in college, he took aeroelasticity from Dr. Ron Stearman - son of THE Stearman. I thought that was pretty cool. I've almost got a series of "Digital's" first encounter with flying ready. The first couple are fun - and the last is of her and THE Boss on a really hairy approach with a squall line bearing down on them! I've got to fill in how she went from excited "two year old" passenger to the left seat! Maybe in a week or so things will slow down enough to where I can get back to doing some new stuff!!! Love you!!! Meredith

So wonderful capture!

Wonderful rear 3/4 view of this hot plane. Not surprised about the Air Corps nonadoption of this type. They were too stuck on biplanes.
