Very impressive, I'm thinking maybe 1930's, a racer perhaps? maybe a Bee Jee? I wouldn't think that there are too many of these baby's left. Cool shot!

The sky reflection gives the body a nice purple hue ! not tone...hehehe, didn't you just wanna jump and fly off into the blue sky ? I would have...if I could jump start a plane, that is ! another kool shot of this red legend Cheers

Dear Don, Things have finally slowed down a little. It's Sunday morning and I'm in my tacky robe and pink bunny slippers (Yes - bunny slippers!) drinking hot chocolate with half a Hershey's bar melted in it!! TOO DIVINE!! That's a really cherry Travelaire Mystery!! Really stunning!! I've always wanted to fly one of the old radials but never had the chance. The closest I've come to anything from the golden age was a J3 and I don't guess that really counts (but it sure was a lot of fun!!) I learned "tail dragging" in a 170 - and I'm got to admit, I still am not confortable without that third wheel. I'd be mortified if I ground looped!! Didn't Beech make a twin also called the Travelaire or maybe Travel Air?? Seems like I remember something like that on the ramp in San Antonio once. I was down taking my II written and I remember seeing it out the window. I also remember from that same day watching an MU-2 (maybe J) pull up and back into a parking space!! That was cool even if maybe not too healthy on the turbines. I just remember seeing another "Travelaire" a couple of years back - this was about a 1/4 scale model!! IT was really beautiful, too!! I'm gonna look around some more!! Love you!! Meredith
