Description

MIRROR OF THE LOST I couldn't be you So I found another you And within or without We're the same Blinded by choice Of the space we lived in Be it poverty or suffering Or fame From the hard rain twisted in the wind Words from a poet will gently spin And who were you And who was I Living in an existing lie Through an ever changing Life I'd see I know you'll always Remember me From shadows that quietly fall Life never ends till it conquers us all To feel pleasure in pain Of the face in the distance An old one once new Now remains As I constantly shift From the position I'm in Toying with visions again From a darkened room if you could hear me cry Forever asking the questions why It's all been hidden In a book I have written But it's the mirror that frightens me more Then all of the words I have written or remember That are needed to be swept from the floor A twitch in a dream that's been shattered Confused about what really mattered I couldn't change you If I had to be me But couldn't find me without you And whether without Or finally within It's only a mirror That shows me you're twin How old must time be Before I can rescue me THE QUIET REAL Whispers in the mind that can't come true With a false eye I see me clear in view Impressionable like a youth with guided hand I stare lost creating only what I can Viewing a fake life I slipped out of the real They write them well unknowing what I feel When truth is mocked with fiction's fantasy Stranger it becomes as I wish it upon me To travel the distance on fantasy's road Tired of losing faith in the magic I've been told There's always the reminder of suffering to be real Instead the mind finds excuses it can steal And it's never been so quiet when I hear The dreams of fiction that fade into my ear When hope becomes defined by magic means I shall remain in the quiet of my dreams

The image and the verse[s] complement each other superbly. Your writing is certainly complex, but always clear and accessible - a difficult combination to achieve. Excellent1
